True REST Float Therapy a.k.a. Sensory Deprivation

Float therapy is a powerful tool for wellness, relaxation, pain relief and sleep aid. Floating is rest reduced environmental stimulus therapy. With any therapy, with regular use its benefits are enhanced.

Stress, tension and pain have formed over time and will take time to experience the greatest relief– luckily, floating therapy is a rejuvenating, relaxing, fun, and effortless way to do so!

Float therapy offers relief and benefits which like to say “the more you float, the better it gets”, as floats themselves deepen beyond the first floating session. Though flotation is an effortless therapy, the body and mind actually learn how to relax into the float with each session.

Reset with Three buttons

SALT: Epsom Salts are great for your skin, hair, nails, and act as an exfoliate. 1,000 pounds of Epsom salts help prevent inflammation in your joints and muscles, treats sprains, strains, and sore muscles.

WEIGHTLESS: 1000 pounds of salt in 180 gallons of water creates a 30% salt solution, enabling the you to float effortlessly atop the water. This creates a deeply relaxing anti-gravity environment, as all tension can be dropped and safe to fall asleep. There are no pressure points on the body in this state. The spine naturally elongates and straightens, and the body undergoes the same regeneration process that transpires during sleep.

MEDITATION:

An hour of zero gravity and zero distractions will decrease the production of cortisone, a stress hormone, leaving us feeling refreshed and revived!! The brain enters the theta brain-wave state, associated with deep sleep and dreaming. As all external sources of distraction are removed, floating provides an extreme form of deep rest as the water feels like floating on cloud 9 or in outer space.

In the floatation environment, without the outside hustle of the world, people experience a profound calmness of mind. This allows for stress management, offers psychological benefits of a feeling of inner peace, and is a perfect complement to many alternative well-ness regimens.

This means that for anyone with stress induced or related diseases, such as hypertension, ulcers, heart disease, and many others, the flotation tank offers a mental solution to the physical symptom, and goes after the problem at its source. By combating the stress, which is at the root of these issues, flotation tanks help to heal the body and the mind. Even more abstract mental issues, such as depression, psychological issues, even PTSD, have been shown to be alleviated in the float tank environment due to shifts in brain chemistry.

Super-Simple, Kid-Friendly Smoothies

Smoothies are popular in our house, even with kids who claim to not like many fruits, or yogurt.

When you are introducing your kids to smoothies, make sure the ingredients are to their liking. If they love chocolate, make a chocolate flavored smoothie with a dash of fruit. Make the idea of smoothies exciting, children love to be involved in the process. Let them make smoothies with fruits of their choice, on the condition that they will drink it. Guide them to make sure that the smoothie they make is edible. Lol.

You are lucky if your child likes eating vegetables. Otherwise, you can disguise the tastes of vegetables with fruits or yogurt. For example, if you want to add broccoli or spinach to the smoothie, you can add a strawberry, banana, or grapefruit to give it a sweet and tangy flavor. To make smoothies fun during summer, you can make Popsicles and add them into the smoothie.

The good news is that smoothies are extremely flexible. If your house doesn’t drink cow’s milk, you can always substitute with almond, coconut, rice or soy milk. You can use the yogurt of your choice and honey or agave are both great natural sweeteners.

The kids can choose the flavor of the juice – orange, apple, cranberry or even coconut water.

Here are a couple of our favorite super simple kid-friendly smoothies
Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Makes one serving

Ingredients:

1/2 banana

1/2 cup plain yogurt

1 cup frozen strawberries

1/4 cup orange juice

Drizzle of honey or agave

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until combined and serve.

Mango Orange Smoothie

Makes one serving

Ingredients:

1 mango, cubed (or one cup frozen mango)

1/4 cup orange juice

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

1/2 tablespoon honey or agave

Combine together and serve!

Last but not least is favorite

Blueberry Bliss Smoothie

Makes one serving

Ingredients:

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

1/2 cup coconut milk

1 cup frozen blueberries

2 teaspoons honey

Combine and serve!

Smoothies for kids are healthy and easy to make and can be had any time of the day. You can serve them during breakfast or as evening snacks. The popularity of smoothies has encouraged businesses to come up with ready-to-go smoothies in different flavors. Dr. Smoothie, Suja, Happy Planet, Happy Monkey, and Innocent Smoothie For Kids are among the most popular smoothie brands in the market today. While it is fine to pick one of these packs, homemade smoothies from fresh fruits and vegetables turn out to be the best in the long run.

Fruity smoothies are a fun and healthy way to start your child’s day! It’s a power breakfast. The best part? They’re super-easy to create.
