Lucky St. Patrick’s Day NEW MOON

The March New Moon on the 17-18th falls in the watery, intuitive sign of Pisces and will bring a sense of completion as we wrap up the astrological new year. The Aquarius New Moon cycle ends and the Pisces New Moon cycle begins on the lucky day of St. Patrick’s Day! The New Moon in Pisces is a good time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Fish. These include taking a leap of faith, accepting imperfections in ourselves and in others as a different kind of “perfection”, starting a project that requires imagination and creative visualization skills, consciously putting time aside for peaceful and rejuvenating activities, and sharing a dream with a loved one. With this potent Pisces energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives as this is occurring now, this week, and throughout the weekend.

This New Moon is especially creative and ambitious with its trine to Jupiter and (wide) sextile to Pluto. While we are likely to feel very inspired, and this New Moon can motivate us. Watch out for impulsive moves or impatience though, since the lunation squares to Mars, which is on the verge of changing signs and can be turbulent as words can sting, although they can also prompt a “turning over a new leaf” moment and spark  a new beginning.

This phase of the New Moon in Pisces, occurs at 26 degrees and affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 22 to 30 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) and 0 to 1 degree of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly. It really is the perfect time to honor all of you and all of your journey. No matter what has happened, no matter how you have failed or succeeded, or lost or won, there is something to celebrate and something to learn and grow from.

Tap into the energy of  St. Patrick’s Day and know that luck is with you. Make a wish, set an intention, It is a time to plant a seed of what you want to grow in your life. It is believed as the moon grows that your intention will too grow by the time the moon completes its cycle and returns to full circle to new again. This weekend has potential to be incredibly lucky and blessed so tune into the powerful astrological energy and bring in the luck of the Irish. 😉

Super Blue Blood Moon

Let’s break this down. This event – called a super blue blood moon – is actually three fairly common lunar happenings all happening at the same time!

And scientists say that information gathered during the event could help them figure out where to land a rover on the moon.

What is a super blue blood moon?

The moon is full, and it’s the second full moon of the calendar month, which has been termed a blue moon.

Moon is on a 28-day cycle so that only happens once in a while – or, as you might say, once in a blue moon!!

Next, the moon is known as a supermoon because it’s especially close to the Earth, making it appear larger and brighter than usual. The moon doesn’t orbit Earth in a perfect circle – it’s an ellipse, which means there are times during the orbit that it is thousands of miles closer to Earth than others.

Most interesting, is that this is all coinciding with a total lunar eclipse. That’s why this is also called a blood moon, it’s going to pass through the Earth’s shadow and the Earth’s shadow is going to cause the moon to appear a deep red color.

What a wonderful combination with all the wonderful things the moon can show us.

Winter Solstice: December 21st 2017

December 21st marks the deepest and longest part of winter beginning tomorrow. Winter Solstice, in another sense, marks the shortest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere. Solstice’s significance, has been connected with most intimately to witches, pagans, and druid communities who draw their beliefs and rituals from Celtic, Welsh, and Icelandic cultures, and from indigenous people in what is now Canada.

Solstices are auspicious days that were designed to celebrate the new energy and changing of the seasons. cheers – Happy Winter Solstice!

Mercury is Retrograde in the sign of Sagittarius from today December 3 to 22, 2017.

There is absolutely a positive side to Mercury Retrograde. This period is best used for re-organizing and reflecting. We look at the world a little differently–through different filters–and can come up with some very important inner revelations. It may be difficult to communicate them under this influence, but not everything needs to be explained.

Mercury retrograde periods can be times of heightened inner awareness, when meditation, yoga, deep breathing, benefiting from keeping a journal, reworking old plans, and reviewing past work are favored. Mercury retrograde is powerful for studies, especially for returning to old studies or for re-learning or refreshing knowledge in a subject already taken.

Minor breaks in the mechanical aspects of communication can actually re-connect us to other means of communication, such as when there is an unexpected power outage and we’re forced off the computer and television, finding different and often satisfying ways to entertain ourselves.

Not everyone feels the stronger effects of Mercury retrograde. Some people born with Mercury retrograde in their natal chart, feel that they don’t experience the classic Mercury Retrograde confusion effects as intensely as others, while others do.
Pay close attention to what you communicate in general, specifically around the days of Mercury’s stations (December 3rd and 22nd), as well as around retrograde Mercury’s conjunction to the Sun on December 12th (midway between the start and end of the retro period). When a planet stations, its energies are very strong in our lives. When Mercury stations, communications have more impact, so that negative ones could have long-term implications at this time. However, when you are very clear within yourself and about what you are communicating, this will be a positive time.

It is going to be a big month in astrology as there are lots of  shifts and changes taking place. These shifts are going to help shower us with new energy and new outlook for the year ahead. Trust, whatever unfolds as you move forward into December, and know that when truth is revealed, and new information comes to the surface, it is for your highest good.

As the culmination point to all of this energy, really use tonight’s Full Moon as an opportunity to congratulate yourself for just how far you have come and to celebrate for new beginnings.

Life is simply a string of experiences. We are here to learn things, to share things, and to expand our wisdom and our hearts. It is important that we take time to honor this, and honor the progress we are making.

November: The Beaver Full Moon

There’s something special, magical, about sky-watching events. For just a second, something way up in the sky, outside of our daily lives, can pull us out of ourselves and into a communal experience that we share with people all over the world. We felt that with meteor showers and the solar eclipse earlier this year. Even with chaos going on in the world around us, it’s grounding. Lucky for us, The Beaver Full Moon will be the largest full moon we’ve had yet in 2017 and it’s happening to grace our sky this full moon weekend!

The Beaver Moon’s path isn’t passing through any of the 12 constellations of the traditional zodiac, but will pass into Cetus and in front of Aldebaran. The Aldebaran is the brightest star in Taurus, so on Nov. 5 you might just be able to see occultation which is when one celestial body blocks another.

Get your moon loving friends out for a special viewing. Bring the themed snacks like moon pies and enjoy the Beaver Moon.
