Full Moon in Aries

The Aries Full Moon asks us to gather our courage, make peace with our past, tap into our truest desires, and then leap into action.
A Full Moon offers the potential for integrating two opposites; this current cycle is about integrating balance (Libra) and from this state of mental harmony, taking  spontaneous action (Aries).
Lift yourself out of whatever dilemma or decision that is present.  Step back, breathe, a diamond of clarity is available. A new and spontaneous perspective can be yours.

Aries Full Moon squares Pluto and this can lead to compulsive and destructive behavior as deeply buried feelings are exposed. It is difficult to control such intense emotions or reactions. Power struggles with authority figures, family or partners are possible and you or they may become quite ruthless. Relationship challenges can be turned into an opportunity to transform and evolve.
Gather your courage, tap into confidence, and from a secure and balanced center, make your move. This is a chance to let go and get   out of whatever mental game of ping-pong and take action.
To take action, align with what you desire and choose it.
Full Moons bring a high-energetic release that may feel like a celebration. As this Moon, Sun, and Mercury also point towards Pluto, this formation triggers deep dives into the shadow of our psyche, cathartic healing, and transformation.

Release the past and welcome the future so you can move through this Full Moon in a way that’s empowered and decisive.
Above all, don’t worry about what anyone else needs. Cultivate a balanced Libran mind … so that you can make the decisions you need to step closer to yourself. This gives your Aries “I am” experience an opportunity to prosper.

New Moon in Virgo

Today! The new moon Wednesday September 20, 2017 is at 27 degrees Virgo. The astrological influence of this new moon continues the theme of change that began with the total solar eclipse on August 21. The changes will be more like minor adjustments to your long-term goals.

The New Moon in Virgo reminds us of painful wounds that ask to be relieved from suffering. In order to move forward the new focus must begin on the healing process. This will involve adapting to unexpected changes and fine tuning the adjustments to longer term goals and dreams.

New Moon Understanding

A new moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new 28 day cycle. Sun conjunct Moon gives us an invigorating burst of energy, intention and initiative. This is a fantastic time for making a fresh start, turning to a new chapter in life or starting any new project.

All possibilities are on the table for you as you assert yourself at the center of plans for your future. Old behaviors, beliefs, and habits are questioned now as you search for new inventive ways to make progress.

Under Virgo’s lunar influence of today’s September 20 new moon lasts four weeks up to the October 19 new moon. Within this cycle it is representing a new stage of development. The aim is to make bold, confident changes that lead to long-term success. Determined effort will bring the growth and happiness you desire.

The new moon quincunx Uranus which means this new stage of development involves alterations to your original goals to make it more attainable. Adjusting your methods in response to your deepest and most painful wound so you are set for healing which brings the happiness you deserve.

Happiness is your birthright.
Happy New Moon,

Bhakti Fest Yoga|Dance|Sacred Music Festival

Bhakti translates as love and devotion. This fabulous festival is four days of camping in the starry California desert, or spending your stay at Joshua Tree Retreat Center practicing meditation and yoga to live musicians, singing kirtan and dancing barefoot to the likes of MC Yogi and Donna Delory until late at night.

My whole heart is filled with so much happiness to be at Bhakti Fest
For those who like to keep the yoga and mantra mix going, White Swan Records offers innumerable soundtracks for the yoga of life.
Coconut Bliss served delicious scoops of pure delight. Cool, creamy bites of salted caramel, ginger cookie, and hazelnut chocolate kept yogi and yogini faces more than relaxed, chilled and happy while vibing to the mystic afternoon beats of Girish. With an eclectic mix of rock, indian and reggae inspired rhythms, every artist set us off into a state of bhavtastic bliss!

Bhakti Fest as a whole was  awesome. Part of what made it so powerful was that the entire sacred festival revolved around live music. It has been envisioned and talked about how Bhakti Fest is as a spiritual Woodstock, where thousands of people come together, chanting the names of God.
Krishna Das has said that in India, people understand that God is within. The Hindu images associated with God, deities like Krishna and Hanuman and Ganesha, are symbols of the divine that live in each one of us. Chanting the names of God from any tradition is sacred because each repetition is said to be a seed, and sooner or later, that seed grows.

The seeds of love were certainly sent out with rain showers and rainbows in the early morning sky. It was breathtaking to look at and a rainbow has such a powerful message to convey. Lovely to gather there with a cluster of new friends, sitting on lawn chairs and blankets, singing along with other music artists, everyone dancing and spinning. Fantastic evening concert and such a transforming event @ Joshua Tree Retreat Center

We LOVE Bhakti Fest!!

Harvest Full Moon in Pisces

The full moon today Wednesday September 6, 2017 is at 13° Pisces. First harvest time of this new eclipse cycle. The astrology of the Harvest Full Moon suggests that it will have an impact on your hopes, dreams and on your love life. Full moons have long been associated with myths and legends and Native Americans gave a distinctive name to the one that occurred each month. September’s full moon is known as the Harvest Moon or Corn Moon because of it occurring at a time when crops were harvested and farmers could work by the light of the full moon. It most commonly occurs in September, but the name is given to the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, which can fall during October once or twice every decade.

The Moon is very happy in Pisces. (which also occurs in conjunction with Pisces ruler, Neptune) amplifying the energy of Pisces and making it even more important for us to be sweet, gentle, kind, and caring. This placement in natal charts has certainly brought out some powerful and influential women in the field of medical science and healing. The lunar lesson here is to tap into your own inner guru. Use your increased emotional strength and intuition to overcome challenges.

Sun opposite Moon “Virgo-Pisces” brings attention to your close relationships and how they are influenced. Others may try to bring you down by attacking your private life. The two weeks of this moon phase will be an especially sensitive time. Be very clear to yourself and to others about your intentions. Under the Full Moon we might feel especially thirsty for the waters of Spirit. Yet, we might also find that our thirst is being quenched through tidal waves of intuition, dreams, epiphanies, release of tension.

Every Full Moon marks an energetic peak, which shines a bright beam on whatever is coming full-circle in our Life, highlighting realizations, culminations, manifestations in the world of five senses; yet, with Pisces, it is subtle, holographic, and divine.

Revelations and realizations will arise from that lunar space that simultaneously permeates and transcends reality; that immaterial space where the voice of the heart echoes undisturbed. As the veil between worlds grows thinner, the intuitive knowledge and guidance that flickers from beyond will appear closer than ever, to the point of feeling more realistic than the so-called real world itself. The meta-physical plane, on the other hand, will be remarkably alive and vibrant with inspiration, and the limelight of the Full Moon will work as an ethereal channel to the Spirit world.

Solar Eclipse in Leo

We are having a Total Solar Eclipse in Leo tomorrow on Monday, August 21st and in the early hours of August 22nd in the East. This eclipse has been named ‘The Great American Eclipse’ as its pathway of totality will be cutting across the US from coast to coast.

Solar Eclipses are like a supercharged New Moon which occur every 6 months. They happen back to back with a Lunar Eclipse which is a supercharged Full Moon. Eclipse periods intertwine with endings and beginnings and in some cases can feel like starting a whole new chapter.

The energies are strongest within a month of occurring which is when related events or circumstances may transpire. The effects of eclipses can still manifest over the following 6 months and gradually leading up to it.

In the lead up to this, we recently had a Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius. Its energies signify changes around our friendships, associates, colleagues, teams, or a collective. It could even have to do with how we express ourselves in these dynamics, and also potentially lead to new growth in relationships and partnerships.

We started Mercury retrograde in Virgo on August 12th/13th which will last until September 5th/6th. Mercury Retrograde is a time of adjustments, insights, re visitation, and reorientation. The fact that this one is coinciding with eclipse season really emphasizes significant changes occurring late September, especially in the next 2-3 weeks following this Solar Eclipse.

Solar Eclipses always occur when there is a New Moon near one of the two Lunar Nodes, which in this case it is the North Node. The Nodes are where the pathway of the Moon’s orbit crosses the ecliptic which is the pathway of the Sun.

The closer a New Moon is to a Node, the more coverage the Moon will have in blocking the Sun making it more astrologically significant as far as changes are concerned.

Leo is ruled by the Sun and it is the sign of the creator, the leader, the performer, and the superstar. It is about love and heart centered self-expression, whether it is in creative efforts, blissful activities, or in relationships. Leo is passionate, and inspiring, which is what earns Leo natives the spotlight they may desire. Leo is also associated with the inner child, children and has childlike and playful qualities.

This Solar Eclipse is aligned with Regulus, which is the brightest star that is closest to the Sun’s ecliptic pathway. This is the “heart of the Lion of the Leo constellation.

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS:

We are having a Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius tonight August 7th/8th depending on where you are located in the world.

Eclipses represent changes and shifts in certain areas of our lives and they usually occur in pairs with a Solar Eclipse at the New Moon before or after. The influence can start weeks before, which sets the tone for the following next series of eclipses.

Eclipse season can be symbolic of a turning page, or even beginning a new chapter, in the story of our life. The series of eclipses is happening in the Aquarius- Leo axis with the upcoming Solar Eclipse occurring in Leo. Eclipses occur near one of the two lunar nodes which intersects on the path of Moon and the pathway of the Sun. Tonight it will be happening near the South Node which is associated with the past and certain aspects of this energy that could be holding us back.

Aquarius is the sign of friends, the team, the group, and the collective. Although we may experience a few positive new developments in relation to this energy, ultimately this is a South Node Lunar Eclipse which is about making changes and even endings in some cases, endings related to what it could be that is holding us back.

In the sky Leo-Aquarius nodal polarity, could be avoidance of our heart's desires and not operating enough from a creative and self-expressive side. The energies of this eclipse reflects necessary changes that could be a quick change in the coming weeks.

This eclipse's trine to Jupiter in Libra offers expansive energy in our relationships and partnerships. Friendships as well, this aspect is combined with a supporting sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius, it helps us look at the big picture. This combination involves everything to do with travel, foreign countries, currencies, education, teaching, marketing, publishing, or anything to do with reaching an audience. There may also be a theme of soul growth, related to bringing in harmony, truth, balance, lawfulness, morals, and justice.

Reflection during this Period

What changes do you have to make in relations to your network, collective, colleagues, friends, within a group that you are involved with?

What are you learning through your relationships?

Where are there opportunities for growth in relationships?

Reflect on how you're feeling during the eclipse, ground into Mother Earth and trust the process of life.

Full Moon in Capricorn

This Sunday July 9th there is a Full Moon in Capricorn (17 deg), and you’re likely already feeling it!

capricorn1

Full and New Moons are influencing us whether we realize it or not, The tide goes in and out with the moon’s new and full moon phases, and likewise our emotions are triggered by planetary movements. Knowing about what the planets are doing helps make sense of behavior and feelings.

What message does this Full Moon bring to us? There’s quite the feeling of electricity in the air, which can leave you feeling buzzed. This Full Moon is a degree away from Pluto in Capricorn. The Sun and Mars are opposing them in Cancer. Mars isn’t extremely close, but in this case we’re definitely feeling Mars energy, Pluto energy, and Saturn energy.

Full Moons amplify emotions and bring things to a head. Astrological events don’t create issues that aren’t already within you or around you somewhere. They bring things to the surface or to your attention so that they can be addressed, ideally in a healthy, positive way (that’s where knowing these triggers are happening becomes useful!). It presents a push to explore opportunities or get out of your comfort zone and express your needs.

The Full Moon may bring up questions like… Is there anything I’m not expressing? Are my needs or desires being fulfilled? Is there something in my life needing healing, closure, transformation or release?

This Full Moon is in practical, ambitious Capricorn, squaring Jupiter in Libra. Jupiter is all about expansion and abundance, and a square is a challenge and that can make things feel a bit tense. There may be some dreams you are really wanting to move into right now, The Full Moon brings your emotions to a climactic moment, so you could feel like you are about to explode, Don’t give up! This is a time to step away, take some deep breaths, do some yoga, go to a workout class, get out in nature, have a swim in the ocean, bake some cookies, anything to clear your head which is  being filled by a climax with intensity.

The Full Moon is pretty much right on Pluto. Pluto is all about deep, deep transformation. He’s about diving in to our shadow side and seeing what we’d usually rather avoid or confronting what we have a hard time owning about ourselves (both the good qualities and the not so good). Pluto asks us to look at how Power and Control are manifesting in our lives. Where is it appropriate to let go, surrender and trust your Soul to direct the show in ways you may not currently understand? Pluto helps us get clear on these lines, although we usually go through quite a bit of push/pull/resistance before we get to the clear part! Keep up and keep going!

Pluto will ruthlessly destruct anything we have outgrown, and whatever no longer serves us. Pluto gets you onto your highest evolutionary path, and he tends not to do it in a gentle way.  With this Full Moon right on Pluto, more people than usual will feel his energy and so be aware of the fact that this weekend can trigger a short yet intense dark night of the soul for some. Nurture yourself, take care of yourself and if you can, extend some nurturing to anyone in your circle who is going through a hard time. It is going to be a big Full Moon weekend for sure!

Transformative Blessings
