Intuitive Wellness: Energetics

What is the difference between being indulgent and wasting energy plus time? Are we wasting energy when taking a nap because we’re tired instead of cleaning the house, or running an errand for someone? We can indulge in need for a nap because we’re tired and then assess whether we want to do the other things. This month shows that we’ll need to define that difference for ourselves now because this is about creating self value, energetic balance and using our energy resources wisely, ensuring that we are part of the collective group that is on the receiving end of our energetic attention.

With Mercury retrograde until April 16th, being indulgent and resurrecting things from the past will also come into play prominently.

Have you ever rushed out the door with a full list of things to do only to find you left your wallet at home or you see that your car has a flat tire and that changes all of your plans?

Sometimes the Universe reminds us that we need to take it easy, to slow down, take care of ourselves and fill our own energy tank on a daily basis.

Mercury retro is excellent for release, review, regenerate, refresh, re-think, re-consider, renew, resolve, and rest. Many ascension cycles are going to be ending this month in April and in May so that new ones can begin. While we believe that ascension happens in a straight line, a one-shot journey from destination A to B, it does not happen that way (which is why we can feel like we are not making any progress). Instead, we move through ascension in energetic cycles and once we have completion and closure with the one we’re in, the next one begins.

This month continues with resurrection and good questions to ask yourself would be, what can you resurrect in your life now?

Review your dreams and desires. Are any of them still valid for you? Is it time for some energetic house cleaning to remove the density that is clogging the drains of your dreams?

The energy of April has lots of positive energetics to fill your tank and make your dreams a reality.

Laws of the Universe

Thinking back on when my life

was a mess, I would blame the Universe. Over and over I would say, “Why me? What have I done to deserve this? It’s unfair. Why does this happen to me all the time?”

Then I read THE SECRET. The Secret introduced me to the Law of Attraction and I believed that this was how I could get the Universe to work for me rather than against me. I didn’t know much about the Law of Attraction. I didn’t really understand how it worked or how it was connected to the Universe. I thought the Universe was a space where if I sent out positive thoughts I would get positive results.

During the time of reading the Secret I lost my job, my car, my home, and my ex-husband at the time. I was devastated and I felt I was a failure. I gave up reading the Secret or thinking about the Law of Attraction. Its funny though, when you feel your life is at rock bottom and you come to a point where you have a choice – do I continue on with this downward spiral or do I try and figure a way out of this?

The easier option is to do nothing but I chose to try and figure a way out. I decided to put the Law of Attraction and the teachings of the Secret to the test. I set out to manifest my perfect job according to how I thought it should be done. I did find a job eventually but I took the job for all the wrong reasons. I knew this job was not for me the moment I went into the interview. I did not listen to my intuition. I had made a deal with the Universe to using the 3 step formula (ask, believe, and receive) from the Secret to manifest this perfect job into my life. This was the first job offer so this must be the one and I took it.

Three months later I quit the job. I found myself again, feeling like a failure, zero self-esteem, zero confidence and very little self-belief. Again I had to pull myself out of this deep hole and start over.

The question I asked myself was; “How could I get the Universe to listen and work for me rather than against me?”

I discovered that my relationship with the Universe now operates on these four laws – action, consequence, positive energy and the power of choice.

When you start working with the universal laws that resonate with you. You will find overtime that the Universe will respond and start working with you to achieve all that you desire in life. I began to see why some people including me never achieved positive results because the conscious thoughts which are positive are not aligned to the unconscious beliefs, habits and values. When you are not aligned in your mind, body and soul although your conscious mind desires greatness your subconscious will block it.
Once I understood how to work with the different energies that are the essential elements of setting and achieving goals I felt more confident about my abilities and myself. I also found that I began to have more positive experiences in my life and my relationship with the Universe improved. Over time I stopped bargaining with the Universe and became more open to receiving from the universe.

Events can happen in our lives that are traumatic and painful. It is times like these that it becomes very hard to be positive and upbeat about life especially when you feel so bad. There are also times in our life where we just feel sad or frustrated. I was spending too much time focusing on having to be positive and feeling good that I was not dealing with my feelings of sadness, grief, pain and fear.

I do agree that maintaining a positive attitude and outlook about life is powerful and you do have more energy and happiness in life. However ignoring your feelings of pain or sadness only results in you burying these feelings deep within you. These feelings are real. They will not stay buried for long and at some point they will surface.

It’s a fine balance to manage and process these feelings and not get drawn into the vortex of negativity. From my experience I’ve learned and like to share is that you spend time acknowledging your feelings but then move quickly to finding more positive things to focus on in your life. I found that by dealing with my feelings of sadness, pain and grief I became more self aware and more resilient. As a result my thoughts and energies were more aligned and my relationship with the Universe became stronger.

To the Universe, k:)

Affirmation of the Day

Intuitive Positive Affirmations start to shift your emotions into a sweet state. Having a gratitude practice is a good way to make a positive shift in your life.

Affirm it out loud, or silently,  keep a gratitude journal. Affirm what you are grateful for in your mind as soon as you catch yourself feeling down.

Archer Pose — Gift of Fearlessness

When I began practicing Kundalini Yoga, I came from an Ashtanga practice flowing to a set series of asanas in sequence from one to the next. At my first Kundalini class in New York, I was quite amazed when the teacher asked me to raise my arms as if about to shoot an arrow, position myself in Archer Pose and remain still. The pose seemed simple enough but after a minute or two, holding still, keeping my gaze, my knee bent and arms lifted were surprising challenges.

How could such a simple exercise pose require so much?

It’s been a long way since that first experience with Archer Pose, which is now one of my favorites. It brings forth strength and inspires self-assurance; by holding this specific pose you become aware of your own deep reservoir of inner power.

Archer Pose, according to the Kundalini Yoga teachings, promotes courage and confidence. This asana brings the gift of fearlessness you get to accept and receive.

To Practice Archer Pose:

Stand with the feet approximately 2 – 3 feet apart. Turn the right foot so it is pointed away from the side of the body. Place the left foot at a right angle to the right foot; the toes will be pointing away from the front of the body.

A line extending back from the heel of the right foot should intersect with the arch of the left foot.

Bend the right leg forward so that the right knee is over the right toes. Stretch through the left leg, knee straight, heel pressing into the floor.

Reach forward with the right hand and bring the fingers to the palms, as if grasping a bow. As if pulling back on the bowstring, bring the left hand, fingers also curled to the palms, to the left shoulder. Both thumbs are pointed up.

Tuck the tailbone via a light Root Lock. Pull Neck Lock with the chin in, chest out.

Gaze at the tip of the right thumb and breathe deeply from the navel.

Reverse sides and repeat.

Ayurveda: Sattvic, Rajasic, and Tamasic Foods

You are what you eat. When you are free to live a quiet, contemplative life, a sattvic diet is divinely perfect. For those who wish to maintain a meditative mind but also must live and work in the world, a diet consisting of sattvic and some rajasic foods is best. For those who practice yoga, like Kundalini Yoga or marital arts, rajasic foods are necessary, along with sattvic foods.

For all these lifestyles, tamasic food is best avoided.

Here is a simple breakdown of Sattvic, Rajasic, and Tamasic foods

Sattvic: Equals to clarity and lightness

• Graceful, peaceful, disciplined, intuitive, sensitive.

• Most fruit and vegetables, sun foods, and ground foods.

Rajasic: Forcefulness and will-power

• Active, positive, demanding.

• Stimulating herbs and spices, many earth foods.

Tamasic: Functioning from need and instinct

• Impulsive, dull, angry, confused.

• Meat, fish, poultry, eggs, alcohol, intoxicating drugs.

Vata, Pitta, and Kapha Doshas

Ayurveda, the ancient holistic health sister science to yoga, recognizes that health is a state of balance between the body, mind, and consciousness. In ancient times, food was considered medicine. The principles of healthy eating were well-known and the healing properties of foods and herbs were used to correct imbalances.

One of the most important aspects of the system of Ayurveda is the tridoshas, or forces that generate and maintain physical and mental health:

Vata (air): sustains the body and originates every kind of physical movement in the body. It controls the mind and senses and causes elimination of wastes.

Pitta (fire): responsible for digestion, heat, the digestive fire, and the formation of blood.

Kapha (earth): nourishes and lubricates the body, maintains sexual potency, and lends mental balance to the individual.

To try out a new delicious sattvic dish that balances all three doshas is Mung Beans and Rice. It is a perfectly balanced protein dish, easy to digest and very delicious. Good to make at any time of the year but makes a particularly good winter diet. Here is the recipe when interested.

Ingredients:

4 ½ cups water

½ cup whole mung beans

½ cup basmati rice

1 onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

¼ cup finely minced ginger root

3 cups chopped vegetables

2 tablespoons ghee or oil

¾ tablespoon turmeric

¼ teaspoon dried crushed red chilés

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

½ teaspoon coriander

½ teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon salt

Cooking Instructions:

Rinse the mung beans and rice. Add the mung beans to boiling water and cook until they begin to split. Add the rice and cook another 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Now add the vegetables.

Heat the ghee/oil in a sauté pan and add the onions, garlic, and ginger and sauté until clear. Add the spices and cook 5 more minutes, stirring constantly. Add a little water if necessary. Add this to the cooked rice and beans. You can substitute vegetables as you like, as well as use Bragg Liquid Aminos, tamari, or soy sauce instead of salt. Tastes great with yogurt!

Love is Respect

Healthy communication is important in every relationship, but especially after trust has been broken. When you are able to talk honestly with your significant other and feel that your partner, and you should feel secure in being open and honest then here are a few tips for healthy relationship.

Be on the same team. Your relationship may not look the same on the “other side,” but it is possible to build something new. It’s encouraged for both to be focused on building that new relationship together.

Stay “present-oriented.” One of the most difficult things about rebuilding trust is staying in the present moment and building toward the future, rather than living in or worrying about the past.

Trust yourself and intuition. This might be the most important thing to do. Learning to trust yourself, your own feelings, and that you’ll be protected moving forward is key to having a healthy relationship with anyone.

Before we can open to the flow of the Universe, we have to be open and honest with our self. We have to accept our self, and able to say, I trust myself, I love myself, I am myself. With that, everything flows toward you because you are vibrating as you.

Infinite Blessings,

k
