Gut Feelings

Intuitive decision-making is linked to gut feelings. The neurobiological gut-brain pathways. A gut-brain pathway carries gut-based, emotionally-charged signals carried by microbes from your gut to the brain where they can affect brain function.

According to research, intuition and gut feelings are built on a series of both positive and negative gut-brain signals beginning at birth. These include gut-brain emotions such as reward hormones (dopamine), and hunger and craving hormones (ghrelin) which train the central nervous system.
Years of repetitive gut-based brain signals form memories of emotional states that,  including predictions about the future and intuitive decision-making.

In Ayurveda, predictions and intuition are similar concepts; both based on the extension of logic. There are many explanations for intuition, higher cognitive function, and higher states of consciousness.

Ayurveda suggests living a positive, loving, giving, caring, lifestyle, called a sattvic lifestyle. A sattvic lifestyle is a prerequisite for the development of intuition and higher states of consciousness.

Which Aromas are Best for Vata?

Vatas are full of energy and creativity when their dosha is in balance. When unbalanced, Vatas have a hard time focusing that energy and they can become anxious and restless. That’s where aromatherapy comes in.

Aromas suggested for Vata
For someone whose primary dosha is Vata, warm, sweet, and sour aromas are generally the most balancing.

Basil

Orange

Rose

Geranium

Clove

Patchouli

Vanilla

You can place a drop of the oil on the back of your hand or wrist and inhale the scent. Another way to use aromatherapy is to place about 10 drops of an essential oil in hot water and allow the scent to fill the room for a half hour. It’s fun to experiment with the combinations and create your own essential oil mixtures.

Explore for yourself and see which aromatherapy techniques work best for you.

Synchronicity

An experience of synchronicity, the realization dawns that a mysterious force is at play in the world—a kind of “cosmic clock” whose gears operate on a more subtle plane. For many awakening souls, the phenomenon of synchronicity provides a direct and unmistakable encounter with the mysteries of the spiritual realm. Because the experience has particular meaning to who is   involved, it has the power to open a portal to “the world of meaning,” which is the world of the soul in the wisdom teachings.

The invisible, subtle dimension of spirit that is closest to our personalities (on the other side of the veil) is the realm of the soul, a realm technically related to the higher dimensions of mind, but one which also provides access to the plane of higher intuition. While the personality exists in a world of constantly changing circumstances and events, the soul dwells in a world of meaning.

From the perspective of the soul, the world of outer circumstances is a kaleidoscopic collection of symbols. Everything that we experience on the material plane is symbolic of something hidden within the deeper folds of consciousness.
As the soul awakens, it turns to the “task” of uncovering the meaning of life experiences, attempting to discern what each new circumstance may be trying to teach us. Once the needed learning has been extracted from difficult lessons, they no longer have to be repeated.

By observing synchronicities and trying to fathom their meaning, we are drawn into the world of the soul,  accelerating our progress on the path of transformation.
