Cutting Cords

Sometimes the emotions we are feeling belong to the person we are in a connection with and an energetic cord must be severed.

In every relationship, people are constantly exchanging energy that can become a chord connecting two people. This energetic cord forms just below the breastbone and can remain long after a relationship has ended. This unbroken cord may leave an open channel between you and another person, through which emotions and energy can continue to flow. If you are unaware that the chord exists, it is easy to feel the other person’s emotions and mistakenly think that they are yours. Cutting the cord can help you separate yourself from old baggage, unnecessary attachments, and release you from connections that are no longer serving you. Finding and cutting unwanted cords is a simple, gentle process that is best done when you are by yourself and when you are relaxed. It is important that you are strong in your intention to release the chord between you and someone else.

To begin, breathe deeply and find your center for meditation. Visualize the chords that are connecting you to other people. Run your fingers through the cords to separate them until you find the cord you wish to sever. When you are ready, visualize or sense the chords that are connecting you to other people. Run your fingers through the cords to separate them until you find the cord you wish to sever. When you have found it, determine where the cut should be made and then visualize the cord being cleanly cut.

When you need assistance, Archangel Michael can be called upon to help you with his sword. Afterwards, if you feel that cutting the chord has left spaces in your energy field, then visualize those spaces being filled with healing sunlight.

There may be times where cutting a cord can help free a relative or loved one to reach new stages of growth. You’re not severing a relationship, but you are cutting the chords that are no longer serving you both. At other times, a cord may simply refuse to be cut because it is still serving a higher purpose. It is also important to remember that cutting a cord with someone is not a replacement for doing your emotional work with people. It can, however, be an enactment of that work upon its completion. In any case, cutting a relationship could always be viewed as a positive and nurturing act. By cutting the cords that no longer need to be there, you are setting yourself and others free.

Intuition is knowing when to say no, and when you can move your limits.

Learn to feel it in your body – are there any situations where your body tells you to stand up for yourself more? Doing it all with grace will make it feel so much better. You probably do this already, but getting aware of the process can make it all feel more meaningful.

Goddess Eostre

We discover more about this ancient spring festival, the origins of Eostre and what Easter really means. Although the Christian festival of Easter celebrates the death and resurrection of Jesus and has links to the Jewish Passover, most people, including Christians, unknowingly celebrate its pagan influences, including the bunny, a symbol of fertility, and colored eggs, representing the sunlight of spring.
In the 8th century, Christian scholar Bede claimed in his book, De temporum ratione, (The Reckoning of Time) that Easter derived from the Saxon Eostre (a.k.a. Eastre). The ancient Saxons in Northern Europe worshiped the Goddess Oestre at the time of the Spring Equinox. The Goddess Easter represents the sunrise, spring-time and fertility, the renewal of life.
Pagan Anglo-Saxons made offerings of colored eggs to her at the Vernal Equinox. They placed them at graves as a charm of rebirth. (Egyptians and Greeks were also known to place eggs at gravesites).
All the fun things about Easter are thought to be pagan. Bunnies are a leftover from the pagan festival of Oestre. Exchange of eggs is an ancient custom, celebrated by many cultures. Hot cross buns are very ancient too. In the Old Testament we see the Israelites baking sweet buns for an idol, and religious leaders trying to put a stop to it. The early church clergy also tried to put a stop to sacred cakes being baked at Easter. In the end, in the face of defiant cake-baking pagan women, they gave up and blessed the cake instead. Today the pagans of Easter celebrate with an atmosphere of giving and happiness, a renewal of life.

No matter how you celebrate may you celebrate in good health, happiness and life.
