Prenatal Yoga: Poses to Use Daily

Prenatal Yoga is a great practice for supporting physical fitness, easing discomforts, and encouraging mental and emotional balance during pregnancy. It can help mothers-to-be connect with their bodies and their babies and also provides movements, relaxation, and awareness.

Practice loving compassion for yourself and your baby. Here are some suggested yoga poses to use daily

Butterfly: Open the Hips
Butterfly pose (baddha konasana) is a wonderful stretch for the hips and groin muscles. For many women who feel aching in the hips, this can be a comfortable position to sit in even when not doing yoga.

Cat-Cow: Keep the Back Happy
Cat-cow strengthens and relaxes the lower back, improves circulation, and provides a nice release for the belly. It also encourages optimal fetal positioning when used regularly in the later weeks of pregnancy. Mothers to be like using this pose in Prenatal Yoga.

One caution in the “cow” posture: be careful not to over-arch the back, which is common in pregnancy and can sometimes be exaggerated in this posture.

Squatting: Strength & Birth Preparation
While it has been lost in many birth settings in Western culture, squatting has actually been used by birthing women since the beginning of time. Squatting opens the pelvic area by as much as 25 percent, utilizes gravity, and often provides an ideal angle for the baby’s descent. Even if it is not used in birth, squatting is wonderful for building strength and stretching the muscles of the back and hips.

Arm Swings: For Endurance
There are numerous variations of arm swings that can be used to build stamina and endurance, and develop the mind’s capacity to “keep up.”

Prenatal yoga is one of the best things that you can do for yourself, as well as your growing baby.  A prenatal yoga practice allows us to slow down and focus attention on what is going on within our bodies. Through working with our breath and doing each pose, you become more aware of what is going on within.

August 2018 Energies

June, July and August Energies are entwined in a deepening of connection. Connection is just another word for family. From the Earth Family of June, to the Universal Family of July—we meet in the middle of the Heart Family in August. What a fabulous reunion!

In essence, these months have been about strengthening and clarifying the Merkaba; our spiraling, spinning vehicle essence of Light, shown as two opposite triangles, yet that is the simple geometric version.

These months are shifting us into more alignment with the universal laws of the subtle realm. One of those important universal laws is Time. When you embody your presence, the circular nature of Time becomes whole within you. The strength and wisdom of the past meet the potential of the future in you. Now.

We are being tasked to embody a deeper level of connection. Finding the inner courage to forgive, to take a creative risk, to connect more deeply and allow your unique and sacred Light to Love in a new way.

August brings us a beautiful energetic on 8/11 as the Leo energy eclipses what has been released in July. It has a feeling of celebration to me. Celebration is an interesting one. It is a choice and it is internal. It isn’t always a clear path of celebration, it often marks a point of change, like a wedding or a graduation. While those are moments to be celebrated, they also have a bittersweet letting go that accompanies any new path.

The energy of August is supporting us to connect opposites into a powerful weaving of new potential. You are the catalyst for that new potential, Light-worker. It takes courage to let your sacred Light shine, but you are so worth it!  Roar your beautiful Love into the world, even in your silent gaze! Weave your Light of Love with the past and future in your powerful now.

FULL MOON in Capricorn – Strawberry Moon 2018

The Strawberry Moon will spectacularly light up the night and morning skies Tonight and on Thursday, June 28, when it reaches its full moon phase.

So why exactly is the June full moon known as the Strawberry Moon?

The unusual name can be traced back to the Native American Algonquin tribes.

By naming the various phases of the moon, the Algonquin were able to keep track of the seasons.

And the Strawberry Moon signalled the time was right to harvest ripening wild berries.

Strawberry Moon signalled the time was right to harvest ripening wild berries.

This Full Moon is also pivotal because it precedes the Solar Eclipse on July 12, representing a time when a course change can make a significant difference in how our upcoming eclipse season unfolds. It will be up to each of us to observe the events that unfold this week and take personal responsibility for changing that which is within our power to change – even if that change is merely a shift in attitude or perspective.

National Strawberry Parfait Day

Strawberry Parfait Day is today!

Parfait is French for perfect. The traditional parfait is a dessert of ice cream or frozen custard layered in a tall glass stemmed glass with fruit and topped with whipped cream.

Today, the ice cream is often replaced with yogurt or pudding and additional layers of granola are added. Strawberries are in season during the month of June, so it is a good time for National Strawberry Parfait Day. 🍓

Happy Summer Solstice

June 21 solstice is an auspicious half-year marker, a time when you can reflect on where you are in life and connect with spiritual fire for the upcoming months. It is a time, too, of celebrating the change in seasons and acknowledging natural rhythms that connect you to the pulse of the cosmos.

As you feel more connected to the natural dance of life, you become more resourced on all levels such as gaining clarity about expressing your purpose, catalyzing your forward momentum, and having the higher frequency you need to be a potent healing force in the world.

Solstice also coincides with the culmination of Wesak season, allowing you to tap into amplified levels of light and blessings available for several weeks each year. It’s not necessary to know anything about Wesak or the enlightened masters associated with it to be impacted by this beneficial energy. Knowing that these energies exist ahead of solstice, however, is of benefit because when the blessings on your radar, you can intentionally invite them in.

Here are a few suggestions to reflect upon during Summer Solstice ☉

First is a connection with the divine feminine – not related to gender but as the source of creation and creativity. Invite a stronger connection with this essential energy. Ask to be shown through dreams and life happenstance how you can be more honoring of the feminine principle. Invite an understanding of where you are out of balance, where you block your own flow, and where you stop yourself from receiving.

Second is a connection with the gifts you as a soul are alive to express in the world. Ask to understand these from spirit’s perspective. Invite a knowing of how you discount your own gifts, how you hold back, or how you ignore natural rhythms when offering your gifts to others.

Third is a connection with the love that naturally abides within you, always present and available. Ask spirit to reveal examples of how this love is the most potent transformational force you have. Invite a knowing of the ways your love helps others awaken, helps bring comfort, and helps show people the way out of their own darkness.

Solstice Blessings,

K ♡

Motivational Monday

As you learn more about yourself, your Soul mission changes slightly, adding and subtracting small bits to forge something that is unique to you. Your Soul mission is not defined by the job you have, instead it is the role you play in the theatre of life. That role can morph and change, but the central motivation for that role will remain the same.

Think about the things in life that motivate you; compassion, transformation, positive change, education, spiritual growth, etc. Find the number one motivator in your life, the top activity or topic that makes you excited when you put your time and energy into it. It can be anything! Whatever that number one motivator is, it reveals a very important piece to your Soul mission.

Planetary News: Neptune Stations Retrograde

Neptune will travel between 13° – 16 ° of Pisces from June 18 until November 24. Moving incredibly slowly, this planet only traverses a small patch of sky each year. It’s main aim is to open us up to an experience of oneness, and when we allow ourselves some time to space out and connect with non-linear aspects of the self, we can have a pretty good time.

On June 18th, as it stations retrograde we are reminded of the importance of softening our gaze, relaxing our shoulders, and breathing in the beauty of life’s infinite inspirations.

Tuesday Thoughts

It takes discipline and effort to switch to a different channel where we can look from a higher perspective with more gratitude. When we do this, it can take us directly into our hearts, and then from our heart’s intelligence we are able to create from a more resourceful place.
