King of Electro Cumbia he is…a Mexican singer/producer and this week’s Billboard Latin Artist on the Rise and in a couple of his music videos he represents NEW YORK with his New York Yankees hat and in another video the Empire State Building shining bright at night. RAYMIX is on the rise by DJ, producer, composer, singer, and arranger Edmundo Gómez Moreno. He has burst onto the scene in September with the smash single “Oye Mujer,” that wove together classic cumbia and various elements of Latin pop, reggaeton, and various Mexican, Puerto Rican, urban, and even Arabic styles -he subtitled the single “Latin Stylish Music.”
Its music video, showing only Moreno singing, dancing, and playing all the instruments, ran up over 73 million views, and the single reached the Top 20 of the Hot Latin Songs charts, earning Moreno the title “King of Electro Cumbia.” The electrocumbia has been reborn, this time through Raymix, a young Mexican singer/producer and this week’s Billboard Latin Artist on the Rise.
Raymix (born Edmundo Gómez Moreno) released his smash hit “Oye Mujer,” which has surpassed 197 million views on YouTube, but all this happened after the Mexican singer earned his college degree. Raymix is an aerospace engineer and his last job was at NASA, where he discovered the idea of mixing Latin basses with electronics as an auditory experiment. He joined forces with two other Mexican trance producers called Light and Wave One of their songs, Feeling the City, was played on the Armin Van Buuren show State of Trance episodes 608 and 609 and Armin played it in his live sets at that time.
Thanks Raymix, from San Jose el mideo estado de Mexico for the AMAZING MÚSICA! #Electrocumbia
